At the Old market Theatre, Hove

Brighton Fringe Festival 2019

I have seen contemporary dance shows in the past, some have been really good, others didn’t fill my taste buds. I think it’s due to a personal taste. The show might be good but I might not have didn’t liked the  themes or styles.

But this show was simply amazing Sometime simple is the best. A theme that came to me was that is was like a 1920’s black & white old fashioned film e.g Charlie Chaplin, Stan & Ollie. Music throughout the performance had bits of jazz including French styles which brought back memories.

On the stage they made good use of sticky tape and chairs which l liked, so simple to follow.

My favourite part of show was musical chairs which involved someone from the audience. It brought out the inner child within me. I would have liked to see more of this.

There’s was a section where the main character he danced by tapping/knocking his feet together showing his frustration feeling or maybe anger.

There was a chair scene where’s blamed another character for something she’s didn’t do, slightly bullying her too. I really felt the rawness within her.

The show lasted 30 mins. I would have liked it to have been a small bit longer & involve the audience more.

Just wish there was more audience to see their show because it’s brilliant, simple, emotional feeling that definitely filled my taste buds
