Young learning disabled arts activists lead a conference with a difference. Celebrating their growing impact on the national arts scene, they ask how we can break down the barriers to inclusion that still exist.

Creative Minds Midlands is the fifth regional disability led conference in the UK produced by  Carousel and Open Theatre Company in collaboration with the following regional partners:

BecauseWeCanCanCan, Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Culture Coventry, Freefall Dance Company, LEVEL, mac Birmingham and Spectra

It brings together learning disabled artists and performers and a range of people from the wider arts world to look at quality, leadership, inclusion and collaboration.

The focus is on news ways of

  • creating opportunities
  • creative enabling
  • training
  • working together
  • experiencing arts

It will be a day of doing and taking action.

A must for anyone involved in the future of the arts in the UK; arts organisations, local authority arts officers, academics, students, funders, arts critics and practitioners.

Creative Minds Midlands is supported by Arts Council England, The Monument Trust and Service Birmingham.
